Phase 01
July to August
Re-reading the summer selections. Members annotate, exchange marginalia, and file short critiques in the archive.
Active Reading Challenge · 2026
July to December 2026. Six months. Sixty-two titles. Four thousand readers moving in slow, deliberate concert.
What it is
The Mid-Year Retrospective is Novirra's flagship communal reading challenge, running from July to December 2026. It is not a race to finish the most books, and it is not a checklist. It is a structured, six-month conversation among our 4,000+ members about the titles that have quietly rearranged how we read this year.
Every month has an anchor selection, a supporting text, and a live salon with the author or a critic close to the work. Between sessions, members exchange marginalia, essays, and short critiques in the private discussion channel. At the close, each participant contributes a page to the Mid-Year Ledger, a printed keepsake mailed to every reader on the roster.
