Novirra was founded by Nyra Solenne in 2024 with a quiet ambition: to gather, in one slow and luminous place, the readers who still believed in the long sentence.

Before Novirra, Nyra spent fifteen years as a literary critic — first in Paris, then in New York, eventually keeping a small reading circle that met in the upstairs room of a bookseller's house on the Île Saint-Louis. The circle grew. The room ran out of chairs.
Novirra is what the room became when it stopped fitting inside a building. We choose one book each month. We read it slowly. We discuss it carefully. We invite the writer when we can. The rest — the festivals, the salons, the annotated editions, the late-night threads — grew up around the table.
Our promise is small and absolute: we will never recommend a book we have not loved, and we will never love a book quickly.
